The Silicon and Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. Silicon and Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox, Skype, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and datacenter infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers.As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow, the ability to support the silicon and hardware engineering efforts is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Silicon and Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering Hardware Lab Management Team is instrumental in partnering and providing the engineering teams with critical hardware lab space, resources, and support.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end lab support of the Silicon and Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering teamsExecute on lab alignment, planning, and strategizing to support the success of Silicon and Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering programsDrive lab activities such as lab builds, procurement, inventory, safety, security, audits, etc.Manage lab work scope, schedule/risks, budget, vendors/suppliers, etc.Partner with engineering, management, finance, and other support teamsCoordinate with other lab Technical Program Managers across multiple Silicon and Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering locationsCollaborate with other organizations across Microsoft for lab alignment and lab resources sharingEnsure proper communication and adequate lab documentationQualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

3+ years of hardware technical program management experience.2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.Other Qualifications:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, etc.) OR equivalent experience4+ years of program management experience4+ years of managing cross-functional work with diverse teamsExperience in analytics/metrics reportingTechnical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
