All welding services, design, manufacturing, hardware and software development, testing, as well as research and development is conducted here.Job Location(s)Chicago, IL (near Midway Airport)Role – Software Engineer (full-time)Sciaky is seeking a Software Engineer who will assist in planning and coordinating all activities related to software requirements of our EBAM and Additive Manufacturing systems.You’ll be doing a lot of this:Maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applicationsCommunicating and collaborating to solve problemsApplying knowledge of best practicesDesign, develop and deploy softwarePresenting products and ideasRepresent Sciaky in front of customers and usersSo, you should have this:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering degreeMinimum of 7 years of prior direct experience in software development, programming design and systems managementExperience and understanding with C#, C++, C, Labview, Visual StudioExperience with hardware-software integration, good understanding of various communications protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS232Experience with real-time system developmentExperience preferred with TwinCAT real time developmentPLC, HMI industrial technology programmingStrong knowledge of version control (Git or similar)Strong ability to grasp and apply new information quickly, high attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitudeExtensive experience with Microsoft Office applicationsGreat communication and documentation skillsAbility to work well in a team setting and make decisions in high-stress situationsTravel to the client for installation, test, debug, start-up, commissioning and training
