Registered Nurse

ensures the residents’ and participants’ health needs are met by supervising or directly administering medications, performing injections and g-tube insertions. This position is responsible for monitoring and observing any changes to behaviors and conditions in order to maintain the well-being of the individuals. You will serve as an advocate and support daily living needs and goals per the Individual Program Plan.Job Responsibilities:Administer medications to individuals and follow the five rights for verification purposesAttend residents’ doctor appointments and address any concerns and changes with the attending physicianAudit all medications during a new medication cycle and check the eight rights for verificationObserve/perform g-tube insertions for feeding to individuals, as necessaryObserve/perform intramuscular injections when necessaryEvaluate residents’ and participants’ level of consciousness, neurological factors, and whether they are responsive and oriented post seizure and/or any traumatic episodesComplete and update client notes system on a daily basis. Observe and report any unusual behaviors and injuries so both Behavior Consultant and Administrator are fully informedDevelopment of Restricted Health Care Plans, liaison with Doctors, and training staff on RHP's and monitor and ensure RHP's are followedAttend all transition meetings, IPP's, Quarterly meetings and Clinical staffing meetingsRepresent PC at all Regional Center / Client meetingsPerform basic physical review such as checking for vital signs, (understanding normal and abnormal measures) and head to toe assessmentsParticipate in community outing events with the individuals such as hiking, going to the beach, and other leisure activitiesProvide training to LVN, LPT, DSP and other staffPerform other related duties and assignments as requiredRequirements:The Registered Nurse position will typically work in a home setting environment with occasional work outside and in small enclosed spaces. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling and crouching.Other Requirements:A valid California ID or Driver’s LicenseCandidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to background check, physical etc.If required to drive, candidate must possess proof of valid insurance and registration.Must be at least 21 years of age to drive for People's Care.Education and Experience:Must have Associate or Bachelors Education.NCLEX Valid Registered Nurse LicenseDSP I and DSP II certificates (preferred but not required)CPR/FA and CPI certification.Must have at least 3 (three) years experience as a Registered Nurse in a residential care facility or similar field.Must have at least one year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.Apply at:
