Then the Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center wants you!The MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is a 120-bed full-service ANCC Magnet-recognized facility located in the historic enclave of Olney Maryland, situated nearly equally between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore Maryland, and is part of the 10-hospital MedStar Health system.The 12-bed ICU admits a wide array of patient diagnoses ranging from neuro, cardiac, G.I., renal and vascular ailments, to post-operative procedures. As part of an American Heart Association Gold-Plus Certified Primary Stroke Center, the ICU also manages patients recovering from acute strokes including those who have received thrombolytic therapy. Nurses work 12-hour day or night shifts (non-rotating) and participate in self-scheduling. Average patient-to-nurse assignments are 2:1 with a dedicated charge nurse on each shift.
