Job Summary/Scope
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee accounting operations for InfinityLink Communications, Inc., including the production of required financial reports, reports required by the auditing staff, and reports required under GAAP. Management of production and oversight of the overall budget, forecasting trends, and monitoring funding and expenditures. Oversees the Business Offices and manages project costs for all projects of InfinityLink, as well as managing grants and the administration of grant funding and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
Major Duties
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, auditing, budgeting, financial management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
Thorough knowledge of auditing and reporting requirements.
Thorough knowledge of general fund accounting and financial management systems.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to employment.
Ability to manage and direct complex financial management systems.
Ability to interpret complicated federal and state statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to applicable programs.
Ability to interpret and analyze financial data and/or reports.
Directs revenue cycle including monthly customer billing and accounts receivable.
Performs specialized professional work in finance and management analysis; ensures accounting compliance, and assists in coordinating and managing special projects.
Supports fixed asset accounting, grant management, and Financial Planning and Analysis activities.
Guidelines
Guidelines include department standard operating procedures, North Carolina General Statutes, InfinityLink Policy Manual, and relevant city, state, and federal codes, laws, and regulations. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.
Valid NC Driver’s License required.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
Three years supervisory/managerial experience.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and seven years of professional accounting experience in the preparation and review of interpretive or analytical accounting, financial statements, and reports; or a combination of education and experience.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, or walking. The work is typically performed in an office.
