Contributes to the overall success of US Global Transaction Banking (GTB) by overseeing day to day operations of the business and partnering with the functional areas (Internal Controls, Compliance, Finance, Risk, Legal, Operations, Information and Technology, Regulatory Relations, Data Governance, etc.) to ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This is a role positioned to add value to the GTB executive team by providing expertise and knowledge for the full spectrum of the day-to-day business activities.Accountabilities:Business Management:Oversee day-to-day operations by partnering with GTB and key support and control functionsOnboard/offboard employees – seating plan, equipment needs, coordination, shared folder access, etc.Coordinate and ensure completion of ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholdersContribute to reporting and expense management, partnering closely with FinanceOwn and execute the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for US GTBIndependently prioritize and drive cross-functional initiativesChampion a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledgeRegulatory and Controls:Strengthen and develop the control environment by promoting an understanding and adherence to the existing governance framework and policies, procedures, and regulationsActively promote a consistent and unified governance framework for GTB activities, driving consistencies across functions and productsOversee responses to various regulatory requests, ensuring clarity and accuracy of responsesActively create efficiencies in the way controls are applied while still operating under a strong controls frameworkKey contact to our Compliance, Internal Control, Legal, Finance, Risk, Operations, Information and Technology, Reg Relations, and Data Governance teamsPrimary point of contact for audits, compliance reviews, annual reviews of policies and procedures, review of controls, and regulatory audits (CRCA reviews, Risk Identification process, Mandatory Absence policy, WSP, clean desk policy, KYC refreshes, etc.)Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and business decisionsWhat You'll Bring:Strong communication skills, both written and oralExceptional attention to detail, coupled with strong editing skillsExpert user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly: Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelHigh organizational and project management skills, being able to handle a large number of concurrent, high-priority activities and requestsStrong curiosity and research capabilities to obtain background information and insights for projects which the incumbent may or may not be thoroughly familiar withGood understanding of the GTBs objectives, strategies, and structure is also requiredExcellent relationship building skills, with the ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships across a large number of diverse stakeholder groups (including Senior Executives)Exceptional communication skills with knowledge and experience across multiple platforms (i.e., print, visual media, online, etc.), with a demonstrated ability to drive employee engagementExpert time management, project management, planning and organization skills to oversee and execute on multiple complex initiatives without compromising quality.Demonstrated leadership and ability to work autonomously or collaboratively.Proven track record in strategy development, including in-depth experience and demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary initiatives of varying sizes and complexity, efficiently and effectively, ensuring all elements of change are considered, understood and managed.Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize several concurrent projects.Excellent visionary, planning and analytical skills.Thorough understanding of high-quality SVP level standards in terms of presentation material and written communication.The incumbent should be able to work in a fast paced and energized environment, deal with tight deadlines, solve complex problems, and balance conflicting priorities.Interested?At Scotiabank, every employee is empowered to reach their fullest potential, respected for who they are and embraced for their differences.
