The RN assesses and evaluates the care needs of the patient, requests necessary pre-surgical clearances and diagnostics, and communicates the patient's plan of care to the ASC.

Open to candidates who are interested in part-time or full-time.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experienceMaintain a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staffAssist in patient education during all phases of their experience at the CenterAssist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments and equipment are available for the procedureAssist in assuring that equipment is functioning properlyMonitor use of all supplies. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.Document appropriately the care that is given to the patientContinuing education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care changes.Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the CenterTake an active role on committees within the departmentIdentifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safetyPerforms charge nurse responsibilities as staffing demands and as requestedEducation/ExperienceGraduation from an accredited school of nursingCurrent State licensure and CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditationTwo years of OR, Recovery Room, Intensive Care or Emergency Room experience is desiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesSkill in using a computerKnowledge of applicable specialtiesOutpatient clinical organizational abilityAbility to remove oneself personally from given situations, remaining objectiveAbility to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physician and staffAbility to multi-taskSkill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and completeUnderstanding of the need for and evidence of consistent respect for confidentiality/HIPAAAbility to maintain composure in stressful situationsSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staffAbility to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructionsAbility to communicate clearlyConsistency and timeliness in attendanceWork Environment/Physical DemandsThe work environment/physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
