The Point of Care Supervisor maintains Quality Standards for Point of Care testing in accordance with state, federal CLIA 88, JCAHO and CAP requirements throughout the New Brunswick Campus.Qualifications:Required:Education: BA/BS Degree in Medical Technology and/or related science.Experience: 2 to 3 years clinical laboratory and Blood Bank experience.Preferred:National certification preferable.Scheduling Requirements:Full TimeSalariedEssential Functions:Serves as technical consultant to help troubleshoot POC testing and computer issues.Assists staff in POC testing and assures staff maintain annual competency.Performs spot checks to ensure sites are meeting POC regulatory requirements such as dating reagents and discarding expired testing supplies.Manages supply chain for POC testing supplies in POC software.Maintains POC testing equipment and instruments and keeps organized records of training, competency, and technical issues.Remains up to date on POC regulations, manufacturers' instructions, and best practices.Builds and maintains positive relationships with patient care team and staff.Supports and/or leads improvement projects to optimize quality and efficiency.May include other duties as assigned.Choosing RWJBarnabas Health!RWJBarnabas Health is the premier health care destination providing patient-centered, high-quality academic medicine in a compassionate and equitable manner, while delivering a best-in-class work experience to every member of the team.
