Employee Benefits Sales Underwriting Analyst

What You Will Do
Support benefit producers during the sales process with understanding prospective client data and providing data-driven plan management solutions
Conduct audits and data forensics on prospective client data
Produce and communicate self-funded feasibility studies, financial and claims analysis, benchmarking and other analytics and underwriting functions for prospective clients
Take lead in client presentation of financial discussions, present findings in prospective client meetings, and communicate data findings and opportunities to prospective buyers
Interact professionally and timely with internal and external clients via email, phone and in-person
Assist National Data and Insights Practice Lead and National Sales Lead with developing new go-to-market solutions for prospective clients
Create interactive tools for benefits producers to utilize in prospect meetings
Participate in national sales calls and producer focus groups, and responds to feedback about go-to-market benefits analytics needs
Interact with other members of Data & Insights team to produce tools and content
Work with Business Intelligence to develop and maintain reports on book of business and client pipeline data
Partner with marketing team to produce data-focused whitepapers and RFP responses
Develop effective sales messaging for IMA's analytics capabilities
Effectively communicate benefits opportunities to a wide audience, including CFOs and finance professionals, Human Resources professionals, Benefits Producers, and client service teams
Train Benefits Producers on self-service analytics tools for unique client situations
Maintain existing tools and directories
Manage and organize workflow within our emerging markets and between market units
Regularly identify opportunities to ensure quality standards, including implementation of best practices and peer review standards
Understand various funding strategies and their applicability for different client situations
Communicate risk concepts such as risk scores, large claimants, and stop loss risk
Evaluate cost containment solutions across markets and funding strategies
Support and demonstrate IMA's core values
Value and understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
You Should Have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Proven experience as a Technical Consultant or Analyst or similar role in the employee benefits brokerage industry for 8+ years required
Attain and maintain applicable state Life and Health License in accordance with IMA standards
Willing and able to travel 2-3 times per month required
Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel required
Must have strong knowledge of all types of complex funding arrangements inclusive of self-funded, level-funded, and fully insured plans
Proven experience executing strategic direction of analytic solutions and tools
In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, insurance products, and industry trends
Responsibility for executing the benefit division's strategic direction of analytic solutions and tools
Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative) abilities
Ability to identify modifications to existing methodologies and originate new concepts or innovation
Responsibility for accuracy of analysis and peer review best practices
Ability to perform well under pressure, on multiple work streams, and with tight deadlines
Advanced communication and presentation skills
