The Financial Accounting Senior will have oversight responsibilities for technical accounting, external audit, statutory reporting, certain risk reporting, and various other high-profile ad-hoc projects. This position will partner with finance, operations and other functional teams across the US and UK and will communicate regularly with leadership.Essential Functions

Facilitate execution of the external audit through coordination with KPMG leadership, as well as a partnership with finance teams across the US and Group.Facilitate execution of the external audit by collecting, reviewing and distributing requested documents while limiting unnecessary disruptions to the business.Perform IFRS to US GAAP translations by creating and performing analysis for areas of difference in accounting treatment between standards for annual reports.Assist with technical accounting research under both IFRS and US GAAP.Assist in implementation of new accounting standards and/or Balfour Beatty policy changes.Play a critical role in developing, monitoring, and reporting on various risk identification and reporting needs.Review complex processes, calculations, and exposures and communicate results to leadership.Assist business with project proposals by facilitating requests to external auditors and producing reports to meet proposal requirements.Prepare internal financial reporting and analysis for both our parent company and our divisions by assisting the financial reporting team with key reports.Participate in the development and update of the Corporate forecast and budget.Serve as advisor on technical issues that may arise when starting a new project.Manage and/or assist with special projects as they arise.Assist in identifying best practices and opportunities for business improvements.Directly supervise employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.Promote Customer Relations

Hybrid work environment – 3 days in office, 2 days at home.Periodic travel to US offices and jobsites, although rarely required.Education, Experience, and Knowledge

CPA required.6+ years of finance/accounting experience.Public Accounting experience highly preferred.Extensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.Familiarity working in JD Edwards and/or Hyperion PBCS a plus.Experience supervising and developing direct reports while prioritizing and delegating significant responsibilities to others.Strong communication skills including ability to clearly and concisely obtain and relay information.Self-motivating, high energy, confident personality that can interact with all levels including senior management.Demonstrate the ability to organize people, tools, and equipment to orchestrate multiple activities at once.Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, Teams).About usBalfour Beatty US is an industry-leading provider of general contracting, at-risk construction management and design-build services for public and private sector clients across the nation.
