OverviewReporting to the SVP & CNO, the Associate Vice President (AVP), Emergency Services is responsible for leading and providing strategic direction to all Emergency Departments across UF Health Jacksonville including the Downtown ED, North ED, and all Free Standing EDs (FSEDs). Furthermore, this role is responsible for oversight of the Trauma Program, Rapid Response Team (RRT), Jail Clinic, and the Midline/Access Team. The AVP, Emergency Services collaborates closely with nursing and senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the mission, vision, and values of UF Health Jacksonville across all Emergency Services locations. This role serves as the hospital’s primary contact for all EDs across UF Health Jacksonville and is responsible for monitoring their performance and ensuring that desired outcomes are achieved.QualificationsRequired Education:Master's degree in NursingPreferred Education:DNP or other Nursing DoctorateNecessary Skills:Seasoned professional with excellent verbal and written skills for communication with all levels of hospital staff and other outside agencies.Proven professional judgement and decision-making skills under pressure and with multiple competing priorities.Ability to hold groups responsible and accountable for performance.Excellent ability to adapt to new situations, set priorities, and utilize problem-solving techniques with minimal direction.Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate large scale change.Works collaboratively with and influences individuals at varying levels within the organization.Must be flexible, team-oriented, and able to work independently and autonomously, a critical thinker.Required Licensure/Certifications:Licensed to practice nursing in the state of FloridaRequired Experience:Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare management, financial management, and administrative/operational experience in a healthcare setting, including a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role within hospital operations.Experience in a leadership role at a Magnet Designated hospital and academic medical center with demonstrated success working in a matrixed management model.Previous Director and/or CNO experience.Experience with the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program.Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
