Summary:The Vice President of Nursing Services/Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) serves as the senior clinical executive responsible for the oversight of all nursing services, patient services, professional growth for nursing staff, and the expansion of nursing practices. This role ensures the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality, patient experience, and safety programs across the organization. The CNO is tasked with maintaining a culture of quality and safety, upholding high standards of patient care, and leading the nursing team toward achieving strategic objectives. The CNO also plays a critical role in fostering professional growth and expanding nursing practices to meet the evolving needs of healthcare. Recent health care management experience at the assistant or director of nursing level.Membership in the State Organization of Nurse Executives required, National membership encouraged.Special Requirements:Cognitive Requirements:Ability to prioritize workload and follow through on assignments.Ability to process complex information and communicate the same in a useful and understandable manner.Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.Ability to evaluate effectiveness/appropriateness of services, including resource utilization and allocation.Physical Demands:General health must be such as to regularly work full time.Potential for long periods of sitting.Adequate hearing, vision, speech, and manual dexterity.Environment:Requires use of telephone and computer.Minimal potential for exposure to infectious diseases, blood or body fluids.Potential for periods of high stress.
