Job Description - Inpatient Manager, Rehab Services (3304250)Full-time 40 hours. Overseeing a busy acute care, teaching hospital Inpatient PT and OT program that runs seven days a week, and 12 hours a day. Hours are flexible in accordance with the needs of the position.The primary responsibilities of the Inpatient Manager of Inpatient Services are to assist the Director in the optimal operation of the Inpatient Department while providing the highest quality of care for our Physical and Occupational Therapy Patients. The Inpatient Manager provides daily oversight of the complex systems of the Inpatient Department, which impacts treatment, scheduling, patient throughput, and financial reimbursement. The Manager provides staffing assignments for both physical and occupational patients as well as from the medical and surgical floors. This critical management supports the Rehabilitation Services Department’s daily ability to reach its annual financial goals and objectives. To achieve these goals, the Manager must take time to work closely with and for these staff, encouraging them to speak about concerns.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supervision of daily activities of the Rehabilitation Outpatient Services, overseeing Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, as well as Administrative Staff.Monitoring performance and documenting employee issues when appropriate.Coordinating activities of outpatient services with other hospital departments to enhance the smooth and efficient delivery of services to patients.Assisting the director in the clinical development of staff to provide high quality, efficient patient care, promoting professional development and advancement of staff.Coordinating computer systems and maintaining the documentation system to facilitate delivery of quality patient care and service.Maintaining an adequate level of supplies to ensure patient care and service are uninterrupted while adhering to budget goals.Participating in the formulation of departmental annual budgets and accurately appraising departmental expenses for the Director.Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham, is committed to supporting patient care, research, teaching, and service to the community. Advanced Masters in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.Current License in the State of Massachusetts as a PT or application for the same required and maintained.Current CPR certification required and maintained.APTA membership preferred.APTA National Board Certification preferred.Acute Hospital experience is preferred. Position requires a level of knowledge of technical operations and administration generally acquired through 3-5 years of progressive experience as a supervisor or manager of Rehabilitation Services.Prior program development and marketing skills helpful.Strong skills with orthopedics, Medical, and Mobility preferred.Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is an Affirmative Action Employer.
