Position Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer with a passion for building high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms, and applications. You will help drive our commercial insurance product forward, by partnering with telematics and other vendors to bring in new customers, create data pipelines, and provide the best possible customer experience. We strive to create high performance, reliable integrations internally and externally to proactively determine and handle new customer’s risk level.Position Description

Our Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will:Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systemsBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleLead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationDefine, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspectiveUtilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesMentor other engineersConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsQualifications

Advanced programming experience within the .NET framework, including C#, Visual Studio, SQL Server, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and RESTProven understanding of microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIsExperience architecting and designing new and current systemsAdvanced understanding of DevOps concepts including Azure DevOps framework and toolsAdvanced PowerShell scripting skillsAdvanced understanding of monitoring concepts and toolingAdvanced understanding of security protocols and productsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeIn-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsStrong problem-solving abilityAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)Architecture assessment and proposalsExperience

4+ years of professional software development experience within the .NET framework (C# including object-oriented design)3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducation

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary : $77,000.00 - $168,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.Benefits
