With a scale of millions of packages, each with different attributes and delivery requirements, what results is a highly dense graph of nodes.
We have built a highly respected BI and Data Engineering team which is focused on solving complex problems in worldwide transportation using workflows, optimization algorithms, and machine learning systems. These are large-scale distributed systems handling millions of packages being shipped through the Amazon logistics network.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own expanding and building a new cutting edge data architecture which will fuel the exponentially growing Amazon Shipping business worldwide. You will identify gaps in the current architecture, and data and help bridge them. You will also help improve the overall data quality in the organization by identifying improvement opportunities in existing data alarming capabilities and anomaly tracking processes in the org. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data needs and ensure effective use of tools and insights. You will also be responsible for mentoring other L4 and L5 DEs in the org.Key job responsibilities
Data Architecture:
Build and maintain the SWA Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes.Data Management and Integration:
Collect, process, and manage large datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.Process Automation:
Identify manual processes in data gathering, data quality tracking, data sharing and help automate them.Data Analysis:
Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, provide data-driven recommendations, and support strategic planning.Tool and Technology Utilization:
Utilize and stay updated with the latest AWS tools and technologies to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.Mentorship and Training:
Provide guidance and training to junior BI engineers and other team members, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of data engineering experienceExperience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelinesExperience with SQLExperience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJSExperience mentoring team members on best practicesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
