Financial Analyst

(seated in our Chicago, IL HQ in the River North neighborhood).Dentologie is growing and we need a smart mind and fun human to add to our Finance group. With proficient Excel and database knowledge (i.e. Data Filters, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), the selected candidate will work to understand and consolidate the data related to patient billing, payroll, hours, and financial software across all our locations. With strong accounting knowledge, this selected candidate will assist with month-end close, prepare GAAP schedules, and reconcile them to the ledger. Utilizing strong financial reporting skills, the selected candidate will assist with the preparation of financial reports and KPI analysis, driving understanding and insights across all departments of the company.The selected Financial Analyst would have ample opportunity for growth to become a key owner of our Financial Planning & Analysis tools and reporting. Working with our Data Science team, the Financial Analyst will gain an in-depth understanding of the company’s production and collection numbers and increase skills working with large data sets. This role will report directly to the Director of Finance/Controller.Dentologie is a fast-paced, modern, technology-driven practice disrupting the dental industry. Presently, Dentologie operates ten locations in the urban Chicago area, with an anticipated four more slated to open before the end of 2024. Moreover, Dentologie is launching this month in Seattle, the inaugural venture into an out-of-market city.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related disciplineExperience with Month End Close processesAt least 1 year of experience with financial reporting and analysisExperience using data to monitor business functionsKnowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principlesEagerness to learn, self-motivated, and self-directedDesire to work cross-functionally to develop efficient processes for data collection and reportingProficient in Excel, including solid experience with data sets, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPsHigh attention to detail with large amounts of dataLove for numbersPreferred skills:Prior experience preparing for financial auditsPrior experience reconciling bank statements to ledger dataKnowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)Familiarity with Power BI and/or other business intelligence software applicationsSkills for Extra Credit:Experience working with databases and familiarity with structured database languages (e.g., SQL)Datarails and/or other financial reporting and analysis software applicationsHealthcare experienceKnowledge of the flow of data between revenue production software to the GL softwarePerks and Benefits:Competitive SalaryAnnual Bonus opportunityMedical, dental, and vision insurance401k w/Employer MatchCompany-provided life insuranceFlexible Spending AccountLong/Short Term DisabilityCommuter/Transit Benefits
