Not specifiedAbout the Job:The optometrist will conduct eye exams for Acuity Eyecare group and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license. The optometrist will support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and educating patients on eyecare.Responsibilities:Establishing long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.Performing verbal interviews with patients prior to examinations to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for their visit, as well as their visual wants and needs.Instructing, recommending, and advising patients regarding options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular diseases, and visual wants and needs. Handing off patients to support staff with recap discussions.Generating patient loyalty and promoting the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values.Performing vision tests and analyzing results.Diagnosing sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness, and eye diseases.Prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.Recommending or providing treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation (brand specific).Providing pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery, for example, examining a patient’s eyes the day after cataract or refractive surgery.Evaluating patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and referring patients to other healthcare providers within the proper time frame.Promoting eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses and how often to have their eyes examined.Clearly communicating to opticians and other salespeople appropriate recommendations for the best possible lenses with the latest highest technology coatings and designs.Minimum Requirements:Must have passed all optometric state boards.Benefits:401(k) with MatchMedical/Dental/Life/STD/LTDVision Service PlanEmployee Vision Discount ProgramHSA/FSAPTOPaid Holidays*Benefits applicable to Full-Time Employees only.Physical Demands:This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
