SummaryThe Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for leading advanced analytics initiatives that drive strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency across our retail organization. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including retail operations, marketing, finance, and IT to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges. This role will lead advanced statistical analysis initiatives aimed at extracting actionable insights from large complex datasets to drive strategic decision-making.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and algorithms to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to define business objectives, identify analytical opportunities, and develop data-driven strategies to achieve organizational goals.Provide expert guidance and consultation on the application of data science techniques to address key business challenges.Develop and implement optimization algorithms to improve operational efficiency, customer engagement, and business performance.Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations and drive alignment across teams to facilitate decision-making.Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science and industry needs.Proactively identify opportunities to apply innovative analytical techniques and emerging technologies to solve business problems and drive competitive advantage.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of analytical models and findings through rigorous testing and validation.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Develop project plans, track progress, and communicate status updates to stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements governing data privacy, security, and confidentiality.Implement measures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policy.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.4 or more years of hands-on experience in applying advanced analytics to solve complex business problems in the retail industry.Working experience in software and/or business solution architecture design.Experience working with large-scale datasets, data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and SQL databases.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Self Sufficient/Self Starter, strong planning and organizing skills.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
