Description:
Start from heterogeneous data sources, compile and analyze data to describe business status-quo and gaps, to assist business decisions
Establish data flows and repositories based on the business workflows. Define data governance process with the right ownership, including data registry, data storage and maintenance, and data access and consumption by users
Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks
Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
Evaluate internal and external systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
Top skills and requirements:
BS or BEng degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent
5+ years of experience as a data analyst in the IT or high tech industry
An expert in Excel, Google Sheets
Build visualizations using PowerBI, Tableau, Grafana and/or similar applications
Ability to use Python or other languages to build simple automation and run SQL queries and join data and quickly provide insights, identify and fix data issues
Ability to build simple models such as Excel macro to make data easily accessible to users with changing parameters and variable business requirements
Ability to examine and monitor the data quality of the existing database. Update and regulate data with effective process and mechanism
Ability to work in a constantly evolving, hands-on, startup environment
Demonstrable ability to prioritize effectively, and experience with technical project management
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers and staff
