senior transportation engineer
to work with our transportation group. We are looking for a candidate that is well known for technical excellence and a solid reputation in the Orlando, Tampa, and/or Tallahassee, FL markets. This person will be a doer-seller, doing the technical work and participating in growing the Traffic/ITS business in Florida with support from our national team and local staff.Responsibilities include:Traffic / ITS technical analysis and designManage medium to large projects for schedule, budget and resourcesIdentify potential new markets and service linesAttend client meetingsTrack upcoming pursuits and meet with clients to gather intelligencePrepare letters of interest and technical proposalsAttend technical interviewsCollaborate with other Mead & Hunt offices in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and MarylandCoordinate proposal efforts and assist in technical input to proposalsParticipate in trade shows, conferences, and presentationsServe as client liaison on ongoing projectsWork with peers within the company to cross-sell other areas of business.Travel and overnight stays will be required.The successful candidate will have the following:A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant discipline from an accredited four-year college or universityAt least 12 years of relevant experiencePE license in any state with the ability to obtain a Florida PE within 6 months of hire.The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following experience:PTOE license is preferredTraffic Engineering Design (signals and marking, MOT, and lighting)Multi-modal transportation planning (transit, micro-mobility, freight, bike, pedestrian, and trails)Proven record of winning contractsSignal timing optimizationITS planning and design (CCTV, DMS, detection, communications)Florida clientele base with DOT, districts, and local municipalitiesFDOT and County practicesAt Mead & Hunt we shape the future by putting people first.
