This is a key position within the company, responsible for the execution of Western Union’s foreign exchange risk management programs and ensuring we have the right currency in the right place at the right time to meet the needs of our dynamic customer base.

This position will assist with the management of our FX hedging programs. The team is responsible for monitoring and hedging foreign currency exposures that arise from our core money transfer business. The Analyst will also monitor global wholesale foreign exchange markets to ensure we have accurate and timely FX rates within our core pricing systems.

Role Responsibilities

Implementation and management of currency hedging programs for new product and service offerings.

Help manage all foreign exchange bank relationships and ensure efficient sourcing of foreign currencies.

Forecast underlying currency needs and ensure proper funding is in place to facilitate consumer transactions.

Manage and benchmark the wholesale FX rates used to price consumer money transfers.

The role will involve interaction with key stakeholder groups including regional business teams, corporate and settlement accounting teams, and technology teams.

Support internal and external stakeholder groups and provide education regarding foreign exchange markets and risk hedging programs.

Ensure compliance with all key SOX controls.

Help maintain group policies and procedures governing FX risk management.

Ensure compliance with all global derivative regulatory frameworks (examples include Dodd Frank and EMIR).

Work in close cooperation with Legal and Business teams to ensure compliance with local currency regulations and capital controls.

Help configure and maintain information in corporate Treasury Workstation.

Leverage automation and process improvement tools (e.g. Power Automate, Alteryx, etc.) to optimize FX risk hedging, reduce manual work, and minimize errors.

Develop deep understanding of Western Union pricing and settlement mechanics to assist business teams and other stakeholders address complex ad hoc queries and issues.

Create and distribute various FX reports to key stakeholder groups.

Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related subject matter.

Must have experience and firm understanding of foreign exchange markets and hedging instruments.

Demonstrated critical thinking and evaluation skills.

Strong leadership, problem solving, relationship management, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Strong math skills and an ability to make decisions under time constraints and with incomplete information are also key.

Strong attention to detail.

Salary

The base salary range is $78,750 - $95,000 USD per year. Total on target compensation includes a base salary and short-term (10% of base) incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
