Responsibilities

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a senior technical lead full-stack developer to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space-based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.Role and Responsibilities:As a senior technical lead full-stack developer with MTSI, your development activities at the Cyber Operations Branch program office adhere to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). SAFe offers proven, integrated principles, practices, and competencies to implement lead, agile, and DevOps at scale. Additionally, this program office personifies DevSecOps which automates the integration of security at every phase of the software development lifecycle from initial design, through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery. These development efforts shall result in two deployable defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to USSF mission systems.Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staffWorks on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independentlyOversee efforts of less senior staff and responsible for efforts of all staff assigned to a specific jobEnsure consistent submission of high-quality products to the GovernmentCommunicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy-oral and writtenDemonstrated working knowledge & experience in the following Areas: Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Linux, Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Artifactory, GitLab, network engineering, AWS Cloud, Agile software development, agile methodologies, agile project management, Software project management, defensive cyber military operations, software development life cycle management, program/project management, systems engineering, strategic planning, cross-functional team.

Qualifications

Required skills:Relevant experience performing engineering activities in the Government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit or non-profit Government support, or development contractor arenaExperience in programming languages (at least 2): React, Angular, Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, & Material UIA minimum of four years of experience in full stack development with complex cyber security in classified environmentsExperience leading complex cyber security software development and deployment activities in classified environments.Familiarity & knowledge:Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud & NifiExperience or Knowledge in the following Areas:Agile software development, agile methodologies, agile project management, software project management, defensive cyber military operations, software development life cycle management, program/project management, systems engineering, strategic planning, cross-functional teamDesired skills/experience:Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems CommandExperience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program officeCISSP or equivalentEducation/CertificationMinimum Requirements:Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 8 years' experience in software development; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 10 years' experience in software developmentSAFe for Teams Certification, & AWS certifications (Associate Solutions Architect, & AWS Specialty Security within a year of start date) or be able to demonstrate AWS competence using the CLI and Boto.Clearance:Requires an Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility adjudication and the ability to obtain and maintain special accessesLocation/Travel Requirements:Place of work is Colorado Springs, remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.The pay range for this position in Colorado is $160,000/year to $195,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
