Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Project Manager who will perform a very wide range of functions required to manage high voltage substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy projects.Responsibilities
Manage projects consisting of solar and geothermal energy interconnections, greenfield utility substations and transmission lines, and some utility water projects.Establish and maintain professional relationships with our external business partners.Work with engineering project teams in the coordination of project documents and drawings.Support in the development of project proposals.Coordinate overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of renewable energy and battery storage projects specific to utility interconnections.Coordinate environmental permitting as needed with clients, agencies and staff.Assist clients with competitive bidding processes for steel structures, long lead electrical equipment and substation construction activities.Mentor less experienced staff on a wide range of technical and project management skills.Provide quality control reviews (or coordinate quality control reviews based on skill level) at all milestone points of project documentation to ensure project consistency through IFC.Work with renewable energy developers and other clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.Coordinate the physical, protection & control, and structural design of substations and transmission lines, including the coordination of Designers, Drafters, and Engineering activities to ensure project schedules are met.Track and report on budgets, and work with clients as needed.Prepare schedules as needed and coordinate with team members and clients on schedule impacts.Keep management apprised of project status and report as needed to clients, agencies, and team members, facilitating monthly or bi-weekly team meetings and issuing meeting notes.Qualifications
The Senior Project Manager is expected to bring an advanced level of knowledge of everything involved to complete a project design from start to finish.Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering or other Degree with proven Utility experience.Minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience including experience with Utilities.Strong competence in applying theories and principles involved in project management.Must bring common sense to the job along with a strong work ethic.High attention to detail.Customer service orientation.Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office, and proficiency with scheduling (MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred).English reading and writing proficiency.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and demands.Company Overview
