Job DescriptionCome to work each day with an inclusive and collaborative business technology team. As an Associate Business Systems Consultant in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

Serving as the default point of contact for BTS with the business, brokering contracts between BTS and the business, resolving client and BTS relationship issues, if any.

Managing and providing expert advice on the selection, design, justification, implementation and business use of information systems.

Analyzing business processes; eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements; identifying alternative solutions, assessing feasibility, and making recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing technology components.

Translating business requirements into functional requirements; performing data and process modeling; managing change; and leading, coordinating & performing testing, verification, and validation of requirements.

Data Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a strategic vision for data management within AbbVie’s commercial organization. This involves aligning data initiatives with business objectives of market access stakeholders, identifying opportunities for leveraging data assets, and advocating for data-driven decision-making. Ensures compliance between business strategies and technology directions.

Data Architecture: Collaborate with Trade, Marketing Analytics & Business Insights (MABI) & Market Access Insights (MAI) to maintain understanding of claims, rebate, and formulary data architecture. This involves understanding the organization's data needs and designing systems to efficiently store, retrieve, and analyze data.

Data Stewardship: Collaborate with data owners, data custodians, and other stakeholders to ensure proper stewardship of data assets throughout their lifecycle. This includes defining data ownership and accountability, resolving data conflicts, and promoting a culture of data responsibility within the organization.

Data Integration: Partner with Trade, MABI & MAI to manage integration of data from various sources and systems into Commercial Data Lake (CDL) and Market Access 360 environment. This includes maintaining understanding of Vendor Agnostic Layers (VAL), Claims, Rebate and Supply Chain Foundations, data pipelines & ecosystems, processes, and underlying business rules.

Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external data vendors and provide oversight of scheduled data deliveries. This may involve selecting and implementing third-party solutions, negotiating contracts, and ensuring vendor compliance with data management standards and requirements.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor and optimize data management processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability over time. This involves staying informed about emerging technologies and best practices in data management and driving initiatives for process improvement and innovation.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Support data analysis and reporting activities by providing access to clean, reliable data and developing tools and dashboards for data visualization and insights generation.

Financial Management: Has defined authority and responsibility for technical, financial and quality management of cost center and Smartsheet, with alignment to Latest Best Estimates (LBE).

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

Experience in Data Management & Data Operations.

BI Tools Tableau and/or Dataiku

Working knowledge and experience with SQL, Data Structures & Modelling and Power BI

QualificationsExperiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; Ph.D.

Strong understanding of data management disciplines including Data Warehousing, Data Integration, Data Visualization, Advanced Analytics, Big Data Platforms/Elastic Scale, Artificial Intelligence, and other data centric technologies.

Experience working with patient level data like Symphony Health Patient Transactional Data (PTD), Anonymous Patient Level Data (APLD).

Exceptional interpersonal and communication and strong analytical skills. Proven ability to build trust, listen and ask effective questions.

Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability to self-manage time and priorities.

Demonstrate deep knowledge of databases and utilize the knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.

Beneficial:

Work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

Experience with Data Lake architecture such as Snowflake, big data technologies and tools such as Tellius and ThoughtSpot are preferred.

Experience working with Market Access, Specialty Pharmacy, Supply Chain/Trade organization is a plus.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
