Summary

The Engineer III role is a professional level position performing complex engineering functions on assigned or initiated programs, projects, or sub-projects of a specific nature by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies. This professional position could include individuals with experience or a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Aerospace, and/or Industrial Engineering.Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment in collaboration with higher-level technical experts.Develops manufacturing or test procedures and performance of routine engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability.Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and/or manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality.Defines and acquires tooling, gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture or inspect parts to assure product quality.Partners and interacts with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.Initiates evaluation and provides input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.Recognized as an emerging subject matter expert within the business unit.Provides mentorship, advice, and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.You Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Materials, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited Engineering program or a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from an accredited program.Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.Ability to travel up to 20% of the time · Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.United States CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)We Value

Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality engineering roleDemonstrated analytical skills and experience with mathematical computations and computer software applications.Demonstrated established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to influence others to accomplish complex tasks and solve complex technical problems.Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodology; Six Sigma certification preferred.CMM training or experienceAdditional Information
