Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedureScrubs, gowns, and gloves self and members of the surgical teamSets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure and ensures they are in good working conditionPerforms appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closedAssists with draping sterile fieldPasses instruments, retractors and suture etc., to surgeon during procedureDemonstrates ability to anticipate need of the surgical teamMaintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedureHandles surgical specimens appropriately and safelyHandles sharps and medications following OR safety policiesPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Sit up to 1 hour per day. Stand for up to 8 hours per day; possibly 6 hours at a time. Walk up to 8-10 hours per day; up to 2 hours at a time. Continuously required to use manual dexterity for handling and twisting/turning. Consistently lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds; frequently push objects up to 100+ pounds (i.e., camera carts, microphones, storage carts, etc.). Frequently stoop and bend. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Must have the ability to move and respond quickly. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision. Depth perception necessary. Ability to tolerate visual monotony.EDUCATION:Completion of formal surgical technology program and/or equivalent experience. Certification as a surgical technology is required. Certification from the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) with the CST credential or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) with the TS-C credential are acceptable.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Planned for 4-6 week orientation to surgical suite by Clinical Specialist, on-going in-service programs and on-the-job experiences with individual preceptors. Customized orientation for all surgical specialty areas.WORK SHIFT:Full time days, as scheduled. 40 hours per week.Please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address.
