KBS Senior Engineering Manager
(E4):Provide Senior Engineering expertise and leadership in acquisition of engineering and technical Knowledge Based Services (KBS) in support of NSWCCD Code 80, other NSWCCD Codes, and NSWCCD sponsors.Provide Senior Engineering support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division’s (NSWCCD) Naval Architecture and Engineering Department (Code 80) in all areas of the PWS.Travel to other work sites including Washington, DC; The Large Cavitation Channel in Millington, TN and Naval and Private Shipyards and Ports.Lead Engineering duties in the following areas:Project ManagementElectronic Document Library (eDL)Meetings and In-Progress Reviews (IPR)Programmatic SupportResearch and Development (R&D) SupportHydrodynamics and Aerodynamics Engineering SupportDesign and DevelopmentSupport of On-Site Test and Fabrication FacilitiesModeling and Simulation (M&S) SupportDesign Documentation and Technical Data SupportT&E SupportGOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY (GFP) AND GFIJob Requirements:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in one of the following Engineering disciplines: Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Marine (also known as “Ocean”), or Naval Architecture.Active Secret Security Clearance.Approximately twenty (20) years of verifiable experience in planning, directing, and coordinating engineering programs for the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Military Sealift Command.Experience in researching, developing, and testing and evaluating platforms and systems.Experience in performing ship, submarine, and advanced marine vehicle research and development.Experience in conducting case studies, editing statements of work and specifications, and performing scheduling and engineering design trade-off analyses.Experience supervising technical staff and participating in multidisciplinary design, development, test planning, and test execution of complex technical systems.Experience utilizing computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) technology and publication standards for print.Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States.
