As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at AmpUp, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our EV charging network. This hybrid role, based in Connecticut, involves designing, developing, and executing hardware integration tests to validate the functionality and performance of our EV chargers. You will collaborate closely with software development teams to implement effective automation strategies and ensure seamless software quality through rigorous testing processes. These tests will encompass not just validating hardware but the end to end Driver charging experience and Site Host management capabilities.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Tests:
Design, develop, and execute hardware/software integration tests to ensure the seamless functionality of EV chargers connected to the AmpUp network.Automated Testing:
Implement and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage for App and Web client surfaces.Collaboration:
Work closely with software development teams to understand product requirements, design test cases, and ensure software meets the highest quality standards.Automation Strategy:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our automation strategies, identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of automated testing.Test Case Management:
Create and maintain detailed test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of all functional and non-functional requirements.Defect Tracking:
Identify, document, and track software defects, working with development teams to resolve issues promptly.Quality Assurance:
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and other quality assurance activities to ensure robust software development practices.Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automated testing and hardware integration.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++; experience with test automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, BrowserStack or similar.Hardware Testing:
Experience with hardware integration testing methodologies.Collaboration:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications:
EV Industry Experience:
Previous experience in the EV or automotive industry is a plus.CI/CD Experience:
Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitHub ActionsCloud Technologies:
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
