Leading innovation in more sustainable LNG and carbon capture solutions, NextDecade is committed to providing the world access to cleaner energy.SUMMARY OF THE ROLEThe SAP Solution Architect is a technical leader who architects, implements, and optimizes SAP solutions that power our greenfield LNG company's financial and reporting systems. This role focuses on leveraging the latest SAP technologies, including S/4HANA, Business Technology Platform (BTP), and workflow capabilities, to ensure robust financial controls, insightful reporting, and data-driven decision-making.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the technical design of integrated SAP solutions for Finance (FI), Controlling (CO) and integration with Procure to Pay (MM), and Plant Maintenance (PM) and Quality Management (QM).Liaise with SAP Application Management Support (AMS) team to carry-out required configuration changes and ensure successful implementation.Integrate SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to create custom extensions, workflows, and integrations.Design solutions that meet LNG-specific requirements, such as hydrocarbon management, asset tracking, and regulatory compliance.Oversee technical implementation projects, including system configuration, data migration, and integration with other enterprise systems.Leverage SAP workflow capabilities to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.Configure and customize SAP and non-SAP reporting tools (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud) to provide real-time insights into financial and operational performance.Design and implement robust financial controls within SAP to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.Define and enforce segregation of duties (SoD) within SAP to mitigate risks.Establish internal control frameworks for financial reporting, inventory management, and procurement processes.Develop custom reports and dashboards to meet the unique information needs of various stakeholders.Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.Stay at the forefront of SAP technologies, including S/4HANA Cloud, BTP, SAP Fiori, and emerging trends in the energy industry.Provide technical leadership and guidance to SAP functional and technical teams.Mentor junior SAP consultants on technical best practices.REQUIREMENTS
Minimum/preferred
experience
required for the position:10+ years of experience in SAP FICO implementation, configuration, and support for large-scale integrated solutions, preferably within the LNG industry or similar sectors.5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, specializing in the SAP FI and SAP CO modules.3+ full life cycle SAP implementations.Experience in designing and implementing solutions on SAP BTP, including custom workflows and extensions.Minimum/preferred
knowledge, skills and abilities
required of the position:Demonstrates leadership in SAP project implementation and management.Experienced in coordinating with IT and/or SAP Project Managers to organize, plan, and execute large-scale projects.Strong understanding of Finance principles, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.Proficiency in SAP BTP, Workflow, ABAP development for custom enhancements and integrations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Required/preferred
education:Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Management, Engineering, and/or Accounting.Required/Preferred
Certifications:SAP FICO certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate or Professional) are highly preferred.PMP Certification preferred but not mandatory.NEXTDECADE VALUESSafety
