Serve as a community leader in providing health and wellness information.Essential Job Functions:Obtains patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, and by communicating with referring clinicians. Prepares comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.Evaluates medical information to determine patients' risk factors (such as allergies to contrast agents) and to make decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.Provides counseling to patients and referring providers to explain the processes, risks, benefits, and alternative treatments to imaging procedures.Performs and interprets diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear medicine examinations, and/or ultrasound studies. Communicates imaging results to referring physicians, patients, and families.Confers with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.Coordinates radiological services with other medical activities. Documents performance, interpretation, and outcomes of procedures performed.
