Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Payment System Specialist:

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for providing technical expertise in administering payment and item processing systems and processes for Redwood Credit Union. Responsible for system analysis, quality assurance, fraud investigation, risk and audit coordination, product development and project coordination. Assist in managing vendor relationships, prioritizing projects, and testing to ensure high quality Member service. Ensure system uptime and help coordinate with vendors when systems are down.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide superior Member service to meet RCU service standards to Members and team members of Redwood Credit Union.Research and resolve Member escalations, problems, or complaints. Respond with accurate information through verbal and/or written communication.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.Administer payment processing platforms for Electronic Services to ensure effective integration, uptime, and efficiency.Configure system and risk rules related to payment systems.Assist with system outages, disaster recovery, file delays and vendor escalations.Work closely with Electronic Services management on strategic projects and initiatives.Research, recommend and implement new products and services.Act as lead tester (QA) for new products and services to validate systems are working properly.Develop project plans, implementation scripts, testing of products and services to ensure quality assurance and Member experience.Report and communicate payment and fraud trends by analyzing data; make recommendations and research solutions.Act as the fraud liaison and lead investigator for department. Work with other institutions to recover and mitigate fraud losses on behalf of Members and credit union.Provide analysis, guidance and direction for fraud detection, prevention, and recovery in multiple payment channels.Act as the Audit and Risk liaison to gather data required for audit preparation.Manage, coordinate, and implement regulatory compliance with extensive knowledge in reg E, CC and others pertaining to payment processing.Provide training, direction, support, and leadership to team and other departments.Recommend operational changes to increase Member service, drive efficiencies and promote digital first.Department and Branch Support:Provide project support and implementation.Create and maintain training manuals, system documentation, and knowledge-based articles for team members and other departments.Stay current on industry trends.Train departments and team as needed in Electronic Services processes and procedures.Compile and provide monthly status reports, general ledger reconciliations and board reports.Non-Essential Functions:Perform other duties as assigned.

$37 - $49 an hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Excellent analytical, critical thinking and process workflow skills.

· Ability to work with IT and implement projects.

· Advanced knowledge in general ledgers, with the ability to find system outages and perform reconciliations as needed.

· Skill in the operation of a PC using Microsoft Word and Excel software, with intranet and internet access.

· Knowledge of financial services, credit union industry and regulations, terminology, and procedures.

· Proficient knowledge of compliance regulations in ACH, Bill Pay and Payments, check image exchange and systems, OPA (courtesy pay) and MDC risk.

· Processing and oversight experience in ACH, Bill Pay and Payment systems.

· Working knowledge in Regulation CC, Uniform Commercial Code, and Regulation E.

· Ability to work successfully in a high volume, technically demanding job.

· Ability to understand the implications of credit union laws and procedures and apply them.

· Ability to work independently, is self-motivated and resourceful.

· Ability to oversee work processes and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

· Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of Member account discrepancies while being sensitive to Member issues, confidentiality, and discretion.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.

· Ability to work a rotating schedule which will include working on rotating Saturdays.

Education/Experience:

A combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree with a minimum of five years of experience in customer service, accounting, or closely related field. Prior experience in item or payment processing functions is preferred. Experience at a financial institution is required.

Compensation:

Base starting range: $

37.00

to $

49.00

per hour commensurate with experience.
