, Treasury Division, is hiring an Accountant VI. Under the general direction of the Revenue Collections Administrator, this position administers the real property tax programs for the City involving both current and delinquent collections and any authorized/established tax credits.

Examples of duties of an Accountant VI include but are not limited to the following:Assists and supports the administration and management of the real property tax laws, rules and regulations for this complex receivable through planning and establishing collection and enforcement policies and procedures.Assists the administrator in the planning, developing, recommending and implementing changes to the low income tax credit, automatic sprinkler credit, septic tank credit, and any other one-time credit (as approved by City Council) and any deferral programs.Assists the administrator in the planning, developing, recommending and implementing changes to the foreclosure activities as established by City Council.Assists the administrator in the planning, developing, recommending and implementing changes to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial systems, including computer applications used in accounting for receivables including the iasWorld real property tax program.If you qualify for the position, your name will be placed on an eligible list. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with a major in accounting or in business administration with courses in accounting. (Note: At least 12 semester credits in accounting or auditing courses is needed, six of which must be above the beginning or elementary course level from an accredited four-year college or university).Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

accounting, including or supplemented by work experience demonstrating aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects; by serving as a group or team leader, or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory capabilities exist; by completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.SUBSTITUTION : A Master's degree in Accounting from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university will substitute for

one

of the required five years of professional accounting experience.Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States.
