Zurich North America has an outstanding opportunity for a talented attorney to serve as Corporate Counsel in the Corporate, Transactions & ESG team of our prestigious Corporate Law department located out of our headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

The position will involve substantial direct client contact and responsibility for a wide variety of business, legal, and compliance issues. Responsibilities will include simple to complex global, regional and local contract drafting and negotiations (including Claims Vendor Management Agreements, IT hardware/software, licensing, consulting, Master Service Agreements, Framework Agreements, etc.), real estate leasing and construction documents, and other matters as assigned. Familiarity with SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, Cloud computing, intellectual property, and data protection issues a plus. A demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership and personal integrity are critical attributes for the successful candidate.

Basic Qualifications

Juris Doctor and 4 or more years of experience in the Legal area ANDMember of the Bar

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in developing, assessing and negotiating non-disclosure, consulting, service, IT and real estate contracts and other commercial documents for business units in many areasFamiliarity with SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, Cloud computing, intellectual property and data protection issuesExperience in assessing and identifying legal sufficiencies as a procurement activityExcellent communication skillsAbility to lead in a teamPC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Lexis or WestlawInsurance industry experienceStrong organizational and analytical skillsFamiliarity with Office 365 suite of applications
