Mission StatementThe mission of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) is to provide effective oversight of the operational risk identification, measurement, monitoring and control within appetite.ORM's vision is to be a strong and credible Second Line of Defense (2LOD), with the mandate to drive actions that ensure Citi stays within the agreed risk appetite on a sustained basis and make Citi a safe place to do business for our clients. ORM achieves this by:Having an adequately staffed and appropriately skilled ORM team that works cohesively with stakeholders across the First, Second and Third Lines of Defense.Having simple and effective oversight and operating routines and tools that are embedded in day-to-day risk management across First and Second of Defense.Effectively utilizing technology and data to assess operational risk and adherence to the framework.Partnering with the First Line of Defense through consultation, challenge, and training to build a strong cadre of proactive Risk Managers that are able to adapt their skills across various operational risk categories.Key Responsibilities for this role include:The Global Operational Risk Officer - Lessons Learned Framework (SVP) role is part of the ORM Standards group, whose mission is to advance Operational Risk Management practices at Citi, and supply understanding and clarity to its stakeholders.The role will be responsible for the ongoing development, transformation, and maintenance of ORM's Lessons Learned framework to ensure a stronger control environment through timely identification, root cause analysis and reporting of significant risk events.The role involves interaction with stakeholders in businesses, functions, other control teams and across global ORM.Lessons Learned Framework DesignLead the design and maintenance of the Lessons Learned framework, focusing on integration with other components of ORM frameworks and standards, as well as ORMF.Lead the development of training and provide subject matter expertise to 1LOD, as well as 2LOD regarding their roles and responsibilities.Engage and coordinate with specialists from other second line of defense functions in effective challenge of 1LOD execution of the Lessons Learned policy requirements.Lessons Learned Program Execution OversightParticipate in Governance Forums (Lessons Learned working group, IMRC) to provide oversight and promote effective and efficient operational risk management practices.Lead the execution of periodic/targeted independent reviews of the LL Program design and management to assess adherence with related Policies, Standards and/or Procedures.Lead the identification of areas of enhancements in the LL Framework methodology and management.Promote actions to address root causes of the Issues identified and validate their completion and resolution of Issues.GeneralEnsure project completion, special assignments and other ad hoc activities as required.Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.Apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for the function.Interface with Regulators on LL Framework matters.Present LL program outcomes to Governance Committees/Senior Management.Identify emerging risks and opportunities to stated objectives as they arise.QualificationsBachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.10+ Relevant years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, or other control function.Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.Ability to collaborate effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment collaborating across diverse groups.Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to optimize work processes by balancing effective/efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement.Job Family Group:
