The AMP Team identifies, evaluates, and recommends risk-based and reliability improvement capital and operating investments, while serving as subject matter experts (SME) for asset management within PGE.Core activities and areas of focus for the AMP Team include but are not limited to development & implementation of Asset Management Strategies and Plans, business case evaluation, benefits articulation, development of corporate risk, reliability & resilience goals, and support the prioritization of capital investment portfolios.The Strategy and Planning Analyst role is responsible for leading efforts in development of AMP's economic life cycle models and business cases analyses. The responsibility for this position is complex in nature and requires a clear understanding of economic principles, high analytical acumen, and strong modeling capabilities. A wide range of projects and topics will be presented in this role including opportunities to develop long-term investment strategies, improve and/or create new business processes, efficiencies, and solutions. This position will work closely with Wildfire Planning & Analytics, the AMP Strategy Integrators, AMP Manager, Portfolio Management and collaborate with subject matter experts to understand the various factors that impact the performance of PGE's assets and service to our customers. Interaction with peer utilities and outside agencies, such as the Oregon Public Utility Commission, is also necessary.The opening that will be filled at either level. Lead the collaboration with team members & subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and recommend improvements to the economic life cycle models and tools. Lead the quality assurance and quality control for the economic life cycle models and tools.

Analysis and subject matter expertise

Lead analysis of economic life cycle model outputs to evaluate and recommend asset management investment to support near-term and long-term PGE's strategic objectives.Lead and complete complex life cycle cost and risk analyses to support project investment decisions, which may include replacement, rejuvenation, maintenance, and other strategic activities.Lead efforts to develop and perform business case evaluations & portfolio scenarios outlining investment benefits impacting system & customer reliability, safety, compliance, and operational efficiencies.Lead the calculating & reporting of project and portfolio benefits metrics.Serve as an Asset Management & technical economic risk analyses subject matter expert.Be a lead contributor to regulatory & compliance filings, as required. Ensures personal technical work product meets all analytical and procedural requirements, including Oregon Public Utilities Commission (OPUC) and other state and federal requirements.

In addition, the Senior Principal is responsible for:Economic life-cycle model development and maintenance

Actively learning & incorporating industry best practices to collaboratively lead team members & subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and recommend improvements to the economic life cycle models and tools. Lead the quality assurance and quality control for the economic life cycle models and tools, including the development of new statistical approaches/tools. Develop and leverage relationships with other utilities to understand modeling approaches & recommend additional modeling enhancements.

Partnering with stakeholders to enhance and develop key outputs, as required.Proactively leads and completes highly complex life cycle cost and risk analyses to support project investment decisions, which may include replacement, rejuvenation, maintenance, and other strategic activities.Proactively guides & lead efforts to develop and perform business case evaluations & portfolio scenarios outlining investment benefits to deliver the company's wildfire risk mitigation strategy that impact system & customer reliability, safety, compliance, and operational efficiencies.Leads the development of new metrics along with calculating & reporting of existing project and portfolio benefits metrics.Serve as company's Asset Management & technical economic risk analyses subject matter expert.Be a lead contributor to regulatory & compliance filings, as required. Ensures personal technical work product meets all analytical and procedural requirements, including Oregon Public Utilities Commission (OPUC) and other state and federal requirements.

Education/Experience/CertificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering or related financial or scientific discipline or equivalent experience.Principal:

Typically, eight or more years in utility or similar energy sector experience in the area(s) of engineering, power operations, economic forecasting, accounting, finance or regulatory affairs or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Senior Principal:

Typically, twelve or more years in utility or similar energy sector experience in the area(s) of engineering, power operations, economic forecasting, accounting, finance or regulatory affairs or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, skills and abilitiesExpertise in performing and/or strong understanding of the following:

Self-starter with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Expert in Excel, specifically experience in manipulating large datasets and reviewing complex formulas.Excellent ability to collaboratively work with project team and cross-functional team members to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Compensation Range:$104,325.00 - $216,190.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity.
