We dedicate more than $1 billion to technology each year to support the Federal Reserve and our economy, and we're building a dynamic and diverse team for our future.Important InformationUnited States citizenship is required for this position.The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization.This is a Hybrid position, with a minimum on-site requirement.About the RoleSuccessful candidate will be a team-oriented Software Engineer with experience and eagerness to work on application development of a multifaceted Treasury application using CI-CD deployment tools, data management, and information security best practices.Key ActivitiesWork in an agile and collaborative environment to design, implement, and test a cloud financial application.Perform peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.Partner with customers in the development of innovative solutions that achieve business goals.Work closely with product owners to define business feature requirements.Review and analyze business and technical requirements and implement technical solutions to meet those requirements.Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for supported products and environments.Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsTypically requires at least 6 years of relevant Software Development experience.Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience. Intermediate understanding of subject.Experience with Angular, Java, Spring (Boot, MVC & Batch), and API.Perform most work independently with general supervision and direction.Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and self-learning skills.Contribute to product planning meetings and provide inputs on system options, risk, cost vs. benefits, and impacts on business processes and goals.Work closely with solution leads to assure all systems and solutions are in line with IT strategy and meet security requirements.Write unit tests and integration tests to verify functionality and ensure code quality.Perform peer code reviews to ensure high quality of code and implement best practices and standards.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to write application code and automation scripts in a thoughtful, abstracted, and organized way.Experience with Git/GitLab, SQL, Python, Terraform, Linux, and containerization.Design, build, and configure cloud financial front-end and backend processes to meet business requirements using AWS services (Lambda, Aurora Postgres, Step Function, ECS, and more).Proficiency in working with relational databases such as Postgres, Oracle, etc.Strong REST API development experience in a cloud environment, e.g., AWS.Understanding of end-to-end modern agile software development.Additional InformationLocation(s) : Hybrid - Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City, OmahaRemote Eligible : NoCurrent full-time remote employees

of the 10th district are eligible to be considered.Salary : $81,400 - $122,100 / Experienced Level, $100,400 - $150,500 / Senior LevelFinal offers are determined by factors including the candidate's qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.Screening Requirements : United States citizenship is required for this position. This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed. You can begin work before the screening is completed; however, continued employment is contingent on acceptable screening results.
