Performs specialized maintenance duties required for the efficient and reliable operation of a building. Duties include preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, adjustment, component replacement, and system replacement of refrigeration, environmental control, and pneumatic control systems, including but not limited to package HVAC units, drinking fountains, ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, evaporative coolers, fan coil units and controls, and exhaust/supply/return fans.EDUCATION:HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:4 years of recent relevant experienceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/prioritize work.Employee must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language.Thorough knowledge of the system, theory, and procedures for repair and maintenance in one of the following areas: electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration, pressure vessel boiler, plumbing, or carpentry.Appropriate knowledge of uniform electrical and building codes.Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades.Thorough knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in the building trades.Ability to inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems.Ability to read and understand blueprints.Ability to analyze situations and develop an effective course of action.Ability to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the job.Continuing Education keeps skill set current in Facilities Maintenance by participating in self-study programs and training made available by recognized groups in the trade such as Center for Studies in Higher Education (CSHE), ASHE, International Facility Management Association (IFMA), & Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).Job Shift:

This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
