The RISE (Resilience, Insight, and Student Empowerment) Clinic at Student Health Counseling and Psychological Services is hiring. The RISE clinic is an innovative university-based model focusing on helping UCSC students with complex mental health issues who need ongoing and integrated clinical care.We are hiring dynamic psychotherapists to provide clinical services to UCSC students on a per diem basis at least one day a week. SHS is deeply committed to ensuring affordable, well-integrated, multidisciplinary healthcare that effectively supports the University's diverse campus communities through equitable access and culturally competent, high-quality programs and services.Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides a variety of mental health and psychological services to UCSC undergraduate and graduate students.JOB SUMMARYThe Psychotherapist reports to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and is assigned duties by the Director as specified herein. The Psychotherapist provides high-quality clinical services, outreach and educational programming, and consultation services and may supervise and train doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows.The Psychotherapist's activities are performed within the limits of standards and ethical principles of their licensure board as well as applicable legal mandates for mental health professionals in the State of California.APPOINTMENT INFORMATIONBudgeted Salary:

NoneSchedule Information:Part-time, VariablePercentage of Time: 20%, 8 Hours per WeekDays of the Week: Mon-FriShift Includes: DayJOB DUTIES75% - Direct ServiceProvides brief and long-term counseling and psychotherapy for undergraduate and graduate students.Provides triage and intake assessment.Provides crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization.Provides case management and referral services.Conducts group therapy, psychoeducational groups, and drop-in groups.Works collaboratively with CAPS and SHS providers.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in related area.Valid California license in good standing.Demonstrated clinical experience with individuals.Demonstrated strong clinical and crisis management skills.Experience facilitating psychotherapy and psycho-educational groups.Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCounseling experience in a college or university setting.Experience working with underserved and marginalized populations.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTValid California licensure in Psychology.The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-hire criminal history background check.SAFETY STATEMENTAll UCSC employees must understand and follow job safety procedures.EEO/AAThe University of California is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
