and do our best to help everyone thrive at work.We love to have fun at work and have a family-like team.We believe in providing ample para support for our veterinarians to best support their ability to serve the pets in our community.Hospital equipment:Abaxis in-house lab equipment - CBC + Chemistry, IStat and PT and APTTReference lab support from Antech including consultations with their specialistsUltrasound equipmentNewsound DR whole body x-ray as well as a digital dental x-ray.Storz endoscopy - flexible, rigid, and bronchoscopyAbout the area:Nevada is tax-freeClose to Lake Tahoe (Nevada and California sides)Biking, hiking, camping, and water sports in the summer; world-class skiing and snowboarding in the winter!2 hours and 45 minutes from Yosemite National ParkWhat we’re offering:Competitive base salary with monthly production bonusGenerous PTO - we never deny time off and schedule efficiently to maximize your time off!Exciting CE allowance, customized to meet your professional goals and passions4 Day work-week with emphasis on work/life balance401(k) with matchMedical, Dental, and Vision insuranceUniform AllowanceCollaborative and inclusive hospital leadership teamMentorshipJob Responsibilities:Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concernsPerform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfortCommunicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needsMaintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocolsStay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicineAssist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.Positively represent the hospital in the professional communitySkills and Basic Qualifications:A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited universityLicensure in good standingCommitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethicsDemonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skillsWorks collaboratively with hospital team membersMakes decisions confidently and effectivelyManages time and tasks appropriatelyModels a professional and courteous manner with staff and clientsCommitment to ongoing educational development and growth
