Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Program or an accredited College RN degree.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years experience in long term care or a combination of long term care and acute care.Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long term care.

Responsibilities:

The Nursing Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all direct nursing services to patients/residents in collaboration with the unit nursing staff. The Nursing Care Coordinator functions as a geriatric nursing specialist, and resource to the staff on the units and to other institutional departments as necessary. Responsible for supervision of house during "off" shifts.
