The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n) Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Manage development and execution of the product roadmaps for top company applications that require design, architecture, and coding.

Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology application roadmap.

Deliver programs/projects based on Agile/Waterfall/Kanban models using Jira.

Be a role model and professional coach for Developers and QA with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.

Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.

Manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.

Develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.

Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

Researching and procuring software applications: Finding applications that meet a business's needs (build/buy/stop).

Managing financial budgets: Managing budgets for specific projects.

Communication: Communicating with clients, other departments, and the company's leadership.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

Eight (8) years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering in a private, public, government or military environment.

Three (3) years of leading technical teams in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Strong leadership skills and takes initiatives to proactively solve issues.

Experience in Digital Software Development.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience leading Agile teams preferably in both Scrum and Kanban.

Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and interfacing with engineers and personnel from other disciplines.

Deep experience in more than one modern languages .Net/Java/Python/Typescript.

Deep Experience with UI/web frameworks (React, Angular, VueJS etc.).

3+ years of experience in developing cloud native technologies; AWS/Azure, certification is a plus.

Strong knowledge of TDD, CI/CD and Agile methodologies.

Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Cloud Formation/CDK/Bicep.

Experience leading technical teams, product owners and customers through the SDLC of cloud-based applications.

Work location:

Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center St. Paul, MN at least 2 days per week)

Travel:

May include up to 5% domestic/international.
