Senior Manager, Clinical Data

As Verana Health reinvents how research happens with data and technology in the healthcare space, we are growing our Data & Science team to solve complex real-world problems across multiple therapeutic areas, including urology, ophthalmology, and neurology. We are looking for a Senior Manager to oversee the Clinical Data group within the Data and Science Department.This role will report directly to the SVP, Data and Science. Direct experience working with ophthalmology, urology, and/or neurology clinical data is considered a plus. This role will oversee a team of clinical data abstractors as well as informatics.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Develop standard operating procedures for the training of clinical data abstractors and for the abstraction of clinical data from unstructured EHR data.Develop and maintain manual abstraction guidelines collaboratively with the clinical and data teams.Recruit, train, and develop a highly skilled clinical data abstraction team.Oversee informatics in supporting Verana’s various product offerings.Collaborate with the product and technology teams to develop, test, deploy, and scale a highly functional software and technology platform for clinical data abstraction activities.Develop standardized data entry forms/pages, data entry instructions, and logic check rules for flagging data entry errors in real-time.Develop and implement a rigorous quality control and quality assurance plan for all clinical data abstraction activities.Collaborate with the medical teams to develop analytic plans for commercial projects and internally-driven scientific activities.Contribute to development and refinement of Verana’s regulatory strategy focusing upon regulatory use cases for curated datasets.Basic Requirements:BS or MS in science, nursing, or another health care-related field.4+ years of prior experience with clinical data abstraction activities from unstructured EHR data sources.Strong track record of overseeing and managing a team of clinical data abstractors.Demonstrated track record of developing successful relationships with cross-functional teams.Deep understanding of clinical and research applications of real-world data sources.Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for real-world data applications.Ophthalmology, neurology, and/or urology experience preferred.Final note:You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position.
