The Revenue Accountant is responsible for accurate end to end accounting for the billing to cash processes for all revenue streams, Direct Ad Sales, Ad Sales representations, Affiliate sales for PayTV & Premium Channels as well as Direct to Consumer revenues, in accordance with US GAAP across all entities within the LatAm Hub & Spanish LatAm joint venture (SPL). This position will report to the Senior Accounting Manager, currently based in the UK, and the position will also work closely with the Revenue, FP&A and Accounting team in Miami and the Billing & Collections team in Mexico.Job Duties:Prepares, posts and reviews various journal entries across all revenue streams, impaired revenue, sales commissions & incentives as well as bad debt & withholding taxes.End to end ownership of Ad Sales Representations process including accounting for commissions and the monthly reconciliation process with partners across LatAm.Key contributor across all revenue related balances incl. statutory accounts process and corporate reporting requirements.Prepare and review revenue related account reconciliations.Prepare and present variance analysis files across P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, detailing key drivers and additional business context for variances.Analyses, records and reconciles agency incentives to ensure timely settlements and accurate reporting.Prepare monthly withholding tax file and provide comments on any variances.Review Ad Sales pacing information, records journal entries and prepares reconciliations to ensure accuracy.Present monthly closing analysis and risks and opportunities to the Regional Financial Controller and VP of Finance.Reconcile inter-company accounts and settlements with regional Ad Sales.Comply with GAAP, internal company policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.Prepare subscriber and revenue trend analysis for month-end reporting.Record and reconcile the Brazilian Ancine fund and liaise with the business to allocate funds to local productions in a timely manner.Review and approve affiliate billing proposals.Track and report marketing funds where they pertain to revenue targets.Build relationships with key stakeholders – including Billing & Collections team, sales & legal teams, International Networks controllership team and outsource partners.Assist the revenue and accounting teams, as well as internal departments such as Ad Sales, Affiliates and Marketing etc. with ad-hoc requests.Assist the Senior Accounting Manager in ad hoc finance projects such as systems implementation to drive controllership, simplification, and automation improvements.QualificationsBasic Requirements:CPA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.Minimum of 3 years of revenue accounting experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP applications (SAP ECC), Multidimensional Reporting (SAP BPC, BW/BI).Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable recommendations.Language: Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.Desired Characteristics:Experience in working in a Media Entertainment environment and/or working with multiple markets.Demonstrated ability to deliver while working under time pressure on multiple assignments.Highly effective problem solving and organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail with proven ability to resolve problems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to adapt and work well in a rapidly changing environment.Experience in Finance transformation and process improvement a plus.Solid knowledge of US GAAP and financial regulations; experience with Latin American financial regulations is a plus.Additional Requirements:This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered.Must be willing to work in Miami, FL, USA.Must be 18 years or older.Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.Additional InformationNBCUniversal's policy is to provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender identity or expression, age, national origin or ancestry, citizenship, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, veteran status, membership in the uniformed services, genetic information, or any other basis protected by applicable law.If you are a qualified individual with a disability or a disabled veteran, you have the right to request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access nbcunicareers.com as a result of your disability.
