Overview:Maxor is seeking an experienced, remote–based Cyber Security Engineer to join our growing Security Team. The Cyber Security Engineer is a valuable member of the IT Security Team and responsible for planning and designing security solutions and capabilities that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Defines and develops security requirements using risk assessments, threat modeling, testing, and analysis of existing systems. Utilizes a variety of security information and event management (SIEM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other tools in designs. Keeps abreast of the latest intelligence from law enforcement and other sources of cyber threat information. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Position Location:This is a remote–based position where you will work from your home office.

Responsibilities:

Plans and designs security solutions and capabilities that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.Defines and develops security requirements using risk assessments, threat modeling, testing, and analysis of existing systems.Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits.Experience with security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security.Works with multiple teams to test and implement production environment policies.Develops security integration plans to protect existing infrastructure and to incorporate future solutions.Ensure all security systems are operational and functioning as expected.Designs action plans for policy creation and governance, system hardening, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and emerging cybersecurity threats.Utilizes a variety of security information and event management (SIEM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other tools in designs.Keeps abreast of the latest intelligence from law enforcement and other sources of cyber threat information.Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science Business Management, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university.Security certifications:

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) preferred.Experience:

5+ years of directly–related experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel. Strong understanding of Operating Systems including Linux / Windows. Ability to manage zone and edge firewalls. Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of security related software and hardware technologies, Palo Alto preferred, including: IPS/IDS, WAF, NAC, FIM, DLP, SIEM, EDR, MDR, IVS, PEN. Advanced knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Experience with scripting (e.g., python, bash, powershell). Experience with role based access control (AD, ADFS, SAML) (e.g. Ping Identity, Okta, OneLogIn, RSA, etc.). Knowledge of cloud security design and architecture preferred. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of computer security system applications, procedures and techniques. Ability to communicate technical information to non–technical personnel. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
