Dallas, Chicago, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, Nashville, DetroitEY IT Senior Analyst – EY EDGE – Federal Tax Advisory (FTA)As an EY IT Senior Analyst, you will partner with other STEM team members with software engineer/computer science background, as well as EY Tax professionals from across the globe to assist clients in identifying and documenting activities and expenses that qualify for various R&D and innovation-related incentives. This role is ideal for individuals with relevant qualifications or experience in software engineering, computer science and/or technology who wish to leverage and apply their technical skills in a new way.Your key responsibilitiesEngage in discussions on the development of innovative software applications including areas such as software architecture design, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), cybersecurity, Blockchain and Distributed Systems.Utilize your broad knowledge of current technologies during client meetings to identify qualifying activities across various fields.Draft detailed technical descriptions/project narratives to document clients’ qualifying activities.Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group of accountants, attorneys, scientists, and engineers from across the globe.Review and provide comprehensive technical feedback on technical descriptions/project narratives prepared by more junior team members.Assist our Tax teammates with IRS audits through the preparation of technical documentation and participation in discussions with IRS engineers and scientists.Skills and attributes for successStrong understanding of software engineering techniques and principles.Strong verbal and written communication skills with a passion for documentation.Creative thinking and technical writing abilities.Strong interpersonal and effective team collaboration skills.Ability to manage client expectations and multi-task while adhering to deadlines.To qualify for the role, you must haveA STEM undergraduate or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering.2+ years of experience in U.S. research and innovation-related incentives.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.Willingness to travel as needed.What we offerWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.EY accepts applications for this position on an on-going basis.
