POSITION DUTIES:

The main purpose of this position is to provide direct care to children and adolescents with emotional disabilities including court-involved youth, and their families, through clinical services such as individual, group, and family therapy, to facilitate attainment of improved mental health functioning for the client in the family, school, and the community, in a residential and day treatment mental health program for children and adolescents. This position also provides clinical supervision to Psychology Interns who manage cases for youths with emotional disabilities and their families. This position acts as primary therapist and case manager within a multidisciplinary team.

Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination (MDH # 2023.04.18.03) issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, effective April 18, 2023, staff in all hospitals and residential facilities operated by the Maryland Department of Health or any local health department are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. An individual may request an accommodation by providing appropriate and sufficient documentation for bona fide medical or religious reasons.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.

Experience:

Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the Psychologist license.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The desired candidate should possess experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court-involved youth.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Candidates for this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment to a position. Applicants who do not have a Maryland license may apply before receipt of the required license but the application will be designated in pending status by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Testing Unit. When the license has been obtained, submit a copy of the license to MDH to remove the pending status from the application.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
