The Service Project Engineer will manage projects executed by the Service Department, typically consisting of projects with less than 1-month duration and contract values between $500-$100,000. The Service Project Engineer will be responsible for estimating work, coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and clients. This role manages cost, scheduling, material procurement, quantity tracking, project deadlines, coordinating with project superintendents and outside consultants. Maintains high standards of safety, quality, and a focus on customer service.Roles and Responsibilities:Client Satisfaction:

Engage with the client, respond with sense of urgency to provide an exceptional customer experience. Assist with vetting concerns, coordinate schedule to fit clients’ needs, and create necessary project documentation.Project Start Up:

Generate all internal requirements needed for accurate job setup. Engage with client to conduct site assessment and produce an estimate and schedule that meets client deadlines. Procure materials, permits, create project schedules, conduct meetings, and coordinate jobsite mobilization to ensure efficient project execution.Cost Management:

Generate work orders, estimates, manage project budget, including change orders, submit client, sub-contractor, and vendor invoices in a timely manner. Generate subcontracts and master service agreements for review by the Service Manager.Material and Deliverables Procurement:

Understand material specs provided by client and proactively manage lead-times to ensure the project stays on schedule. Track all required procurement needs (i.e., permits, drawings, materials, etc.).Project Scheduling:

Issue overall short-term work schedules, review daily field work with Service Foreman, client, subcontractors, vendors, or other project stakeholders to ensure a successful project.Processing/Documentation:

Process work orders, change orders, shop drawings, invoices, and service documents. Respond to RFIs, assist tracking work scopes by maintaining the log/submittal schedule, track project safety expectations, and keep project filing structure organized.Project Closeout:

Complete timely project closeout including completion of punch lists and submission of closeout documents. Receipt of final project payment from Owner and distribution to subcontractors. Work with accounting to ensure projects are billed in a timely manner at closeout.Safety:

Adhere to the highest standards of safety and quality.Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education:BA Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred. Documented experience may be substituted for degree.Work Experience:1-2 years of service, estimating and/or construction management in commercial remodeling and/or new building construction. Basic understanding and aptitude to learn building codes and ADA laws.Demonstrated Technical Competencies to include:Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, ProjectsEstimating, Job Cost & Project Management preferred and/or aptitude to learn new software.Viewpoint Vista preferred and/or aptitude to learn new software.Bluebeam preferred and/or aptitude to learn new software.Demonstrated Professional Competencies to include:Ability to assist and effectively manage several projects, simultaneously in various stages of activity.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Includes working with the client based on knowledge of their needs.Knowledge of construction estimating, both conceptual and unit quantification.Aptitude to exhibit effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Able to maintain accurate and detailed records.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
