Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

to support the Accounts Payable activities within the Accounting Department of our fast-growing company.This full-time position is located at the EnCompass HQ office in Silver Spring, MD, and follows the EnCompass flexible hybrid work model with split time between telework and the office.Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorshipPOSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions:Enter vouchers in accounting system, listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and proceduresSet-up and maintain the vendor content in the accounting systemProcess domestic and international travel expense reports adhering to government regulationsResolve invoice and payment discrepancies and prepare documentation for filesAssist in corporate credit card reconciliation and ensure correct accounting codes and submission of required documentation for all transactionsOversee integrity of accounts payable electronic files and documentsCoordinate and prepare pertinent information for external accounting firm and auditorsProvide excellent customer service and problem resolution for both internal and external partnersAssist with monitoring and responding to requests submitted to finance email boxAssist accounting team as needed with special projectsEngage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events, and providing administrative support to other team members as neededOther duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS

QualificationsAcademic QualificationsBachelor's degree and 6 years of experience, OR High School Diploma and 10 years of experience, OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience, OR a Master’s degree and 4 years of experienceExperience and SkillsMinimum of 4 years of experience in AccountingExperience with Deltek Costpoint is a mustKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Knowledge of US Government contracts preferredFamiliarity working with foreign currencies is desirableAbility to maintain meticulous attention to detail resulting in work reflecting a high degree of accuracyMust have a proven track record of dependability and dedication to successful task completion and follow-throughDemonstrably able to work independently, while also working in a team and collaborating resourcefullyAbility to maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the organization’s policies and proceduresExcellent organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCommunicates credibly and diplomatically, in a timely manner, with all levels in an organizationAbility to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected eventsAbility to work in an appreciative, strengths-based environmentHOW TO APPLY

At EnCompass, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
