DESCRIPTIONDEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Production Control Team provides workload automation, batch scheduling and file transfer services in many supported environments (Linux, Windows, Mainframe).

The Lead Production Analyst is responsible for being the subject matter expert for the Production Enterprise Schedule and associated interfaces and executional components, and provides advanced technical oversight and guidance to other Production Control Analysts on a continuing basis.

Responsibilities:

Perform a lead role in implementing, maintaining and scheduling workloads and event-based processes using Rocket Zeke and Zena.

Responsible for implementing job streams with complex dependencies and managing complex calendar schedules.

Analyze trouble situations; provide technical support to users; perform restart and recovery routines as necessary.

Work closely with campus department representatives to understand and identify their functional business information systems requirements and implement those requirements.

Provide consultation to developers and other staff members with regards to the use and technical aspects of batch scheduling and workload automation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven ability to analyze impact of scripts, programs and associated problems on production systems and production job schedules.

Thorough knowledge of standard job scheduling packages for large or highly integrated systems.

Knowledge of z/OS based systems including IBM JCL, TSO, SDSF, and FDRABR.

Proven ability to install, schedule, monitor, stop, start and restart complex application programs and scripts on a large shared system or set of interconnected systems under multiple operating systems.

Proven ability to decode complex error messages for a variety of operating systems and programming languages to repair basic scripts and to correct basic production problems.

Proven ability to orchestrate recovery procedures for failed jobs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Rocket Zeke and Zena.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate actions to recover data and restart applicable jobs and analyze overall impact to enterprise production environment.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Employee must be available to travel as required.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $77,000 - $139,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
