Overview

The Materials Associate assists with the daily ordering, pulling, receiving, delivering, and replenishment of supplies in order to meet department and patient needs. This role also helps count inventory, enters inventory data correctly, and checks the expiration date of inventory in order to keep inventory up-to-date and usable in the department. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 2:30PM. This position requires the person to be able to lift 40lbs. to 50lbs. at times.

Responsibilities

Supports with accepting, verifying, and entering receipts for all shipments.

Assists with package counts to ensure they are accurate and shipments acceptable, if not will follow outline refusal protocols.Helps expedite products to respective areas and/or storeroom locations.Supports with obtaining signature for deliveries and document reasons for non-delivery.Processes outbound shipments within assigned time frames.Helps ensure that the work area is safe, equipment is secured, and the area is free of clutter.Assists with ensuring that linens are collected and transported within departmental/infection control guidelines for both clean and soil cart as assigned.Adheres to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols as communicated by department policies and Infection Prevention guidelines.Adheres to the environmental and infection control standards established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and other regulatory agencies.Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Service-related experience or prior job experience
